The Summer Youth Works Program, in collaboration with Philadelphia Youth Network, employs Philadelphia youth for six weeks during the summer. Summer youth workers are expected to work 20 hours a week for six weeks. Each year students complete a service-learning project around a specific theme. The program is designed to give high school students real work experience while enhancing community involvement and academic achievement. Students also participate in skills development activities, workshops, and field trips in addition to their service-learning project.
Concilio operates a 7 week Summer Camp for youth in school K-8 grades. Programming is operated out of Francis Hopkinson Elementary School located at 4001 L Street Philadelphia, PA 19124. The goal of the program is to offer academic enrichment based programming with a strong emphasis on literacy for grades K-5, high school readiness for grades 6-8 and successful transition/promotion to the next grade for all students. This successful transition will include academic preparedness as well as social skill building, and healthy relationship building. There will be a strong emphasis on STEM and STEAM programming integration, with a variety of real word learning opportunities through various field trips, hands-on projects and experiential activities, life skills education, and literacy support.
